They had their moments but most of the movies were shit besides the first one. At the time it was something since they were being open about being high all the time but now it seems silly since weed is pretty much legal.Never seen any of the movies, but saw they have a new one coming out this weekend. Are they actually funny, or is just typical gay stoner humor?
I still can’t believe they made more than one sequel since the movies after Up in Smoke were awful. My favorite was they did a movie that didn’t have any weed and it killed cheech and Chong since everyone realized “these guys suck without weed”Cheech and Chong started off as counter culture comedy. The drug stuff was always there, but it wasn't just the focus. Once that era died out, they had to resort to hacky stoner humor and quickly became irrelevant. Tommy Chong is also a blow hard faggot in real life.
Up in Smoke is actually funny if you are looking for a silly buddy comedy, but the rest of them are unwatchably bad.
I looked up the new movie and it's just a documentary. Who the fuck is paying to go see a Cheech and Chong documentary in theaters in 2025?
"Jettison me into the paddies". My favorite scene is right after that, when Cheech tries to call Chong to warn him about the cops raiding the place. The first one is good as a period piece, but in general, they're a couple of hacks. The funniest line in that movie isnt even spoken by Cheech or Chong...
THE GREAT OUTDOORS!!!!!
The whole premise of Up In Smoke...two guys who can't find any weed anywhere...is totally obsolete now. But back then, it resonated, as sometimes you had to go on retarded gay adventures to buy a bag of weed. The dope-smoking little fags these days have no idea how good they have it, with their legal blunts and vapes and dabs and budder.Weed humor is worthless now that it's legal. Here's an exercise: next time you watch stoner comedy, imagine the dude is chugging beers instead, because that's what it is really.
BEANERS…BEANERS…BEANERS"Mexican American" is a banger
Looking back, the adventures for that bag of weed was the majority of the fun.The whole premise of Up In Smoke...two guys who can't find any weed anywhere...is totally obsolete now. I think he's a Hapa. His brudda didn't look full chineeTommy "Ching" Chong is a Canadian chink and he played guitar in James Brown's band or some shit.
