I think so but luck is a misunderstood concept.

Blessed are the poor and the suffering because they are being forged in the crucible of righteousness. When you struggle in the world, you are more likely to turn to God for comfort and to assign goodness to Him.

If you’re born handsome, rich and get an easy ride in the world, and have everything you want, you are less likely to assign any of it to God, and just think you’re awesome. People born into a traumatic tough life please God more by doing a small act of kindness or mercy than a gifted rich man does by giving a massive sum of money to the needy. It’s not what you have or what you give, it’s doing the best you can.
