I would imagine any lawyer worth their salt would make sure to make the case that Pat is a public figure. Ironically, his media tour would undoubtedly be seen as qualification for him as a limited-purpose public figure. If I go on the news anywhere they'll have me with a fishy claim, I'm now using a public platform to be a public figure.

He has made himself the face of a public political controversy and issue, has appeared many times in the media to draw attention, tweets politically endlessly and controversially which draws people's ire, ties that to the swatting issue, claims often to be an influential figure, has written in newspapers and appeared on television.

He has made it very hard for any claim of libel, and of not being a public figure on the topic of swatting and politics, seriously. The standard is then, did Leslie know for a fact he DIDN'T swat himself as he claimed on TV and spread the lie with a specific malicious intent and not just to point to his behavior as suspect, unusual and fishy and bring up the possibility he did it.

Also, Torswats said he did. She just has to point to that and say Hey, I have a lot of reason to believe he did just based on that and his histrionic behavior and irregularities in his story.

I’ve said it before in another thread, the defense should just live stream his socials. The jury can watch him argue with his toilet, Boomia, Honey Badger, Leslie, Brian, random twitter people, defame people he doesn’t like and be the ffwbt we all know he is in real time.
