To be clear, I'm not giving you the standard "street shitter, lol" slop. I'm saying that the billion people you mention are a huge drag on India in every way. How do they feed them? How can they urbanize in a way that plans for that many people driving/working/powering their homes? They're so rural that it will take investment beyond India's current output to meaningfully bring them into the fold.
I'm not saying they can't, just that they're way behind other developing countries when it comes to scaling their gains.
